It should be noted that yeast (candida) occurs naturally in the human body and performs a few important functions in its natural state. It’s only when this candida begins to multiply out of control that an overgrowth and eventually a yeast infection may occur. There are multiple factors may cause this overgrowth of candida, but the most common causes are those that upset your body’s internal balances. Examples of this are an alkaline or acidity imbalance. The use of birth control medication, antibiotics, steroid hormones, a high carbohydrate or high sugar diet and unprotected sexual intercourse are just a few outside factors that may increase your risks of a yeast infection.
There are many over the counter remedies that may sooth the immediate symptoms and discomfort caused by a yeast infection, but can often be quite expensive and in some cases only treat the symptoms and the root cause of your infection. By treating only the symptoms you may find your yeast infection occurring more and more frequently. This is simply because it was not completely cured in the first instance. If a yeast infection goes untreated it may become resistant to conventional medication and may even spread to other parts of the body.
It is possible to fight fire with fire, by getting another microorganism to attack the candida microorganism that’s causing your yeast infection. Probiotics are microbial organisms that naturally occur in the human body. These probiotics can play an important role in managing and supressing the overgrowth of yeast in the body, thus fighting fire with fire.
There are a number of natural yeast infection home remedies that can easily find in your own home. The antibacterial properties of garlic are well known as an effective homeopathic treatment of a number of illnesses. Smashing the garlic into a find paste and applying it to the affected area can assist in ridding yourself of a yeast infection, though admittedly the strong pungent odour may be a bit of a turnoff.
If you prefer sticky rather than smelly, then honey might just be the home remedy for you. There is strong testimony that suggests applying honey to the yeast infected area sooths the immediate symptoms and root causes of candidiasis. Apply for approximately half an hour, wash off and dry thoroughly.
The mixture of cider vinegar and warm water is also believed to be one of the more effective yeast infection home remedies. It is important to submerge the affected area in this mixture as much as possible. Keep submerged for approximately half an hour to feeling the effects. This if probably one of the more popular yeast infection home remedies and has been shown to be quite effective. Early diagnoses and sustained treatment until the infection is completely cured is very important.
There are many other yeast infection home remedies, but these are my own personal favourites and have been known to be effective, especially if you manage to diagnose your infection in the early stages.
